Invitation to Road Victims Lawyers training: Novotel, Stevenage 27th February 2012
The Road Victims Trust has been providing free emotional, and practical support and access to limited free legal support to all those affected by fatal road collisions to the residents of Bedfordshire since 1995 and Hertfordshire since 2010.
In April 2010 an event was held in Letchworth for solicitors who were interested in joining the pro bono legal service in Hertfordshire. This proved to be a successful event and the group has been operating alongside a similar long-established group in Bedfordshire since that time.
Given the passage of time and the fact that other solicitors or barristers may be interested in joining the service, either in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire or (in the future) Cambridgeshire the Road Victims Trust is hosting a training event. The event is designed to give attendees the opportunity to learn more (or refresh their knowledge of) how the Road Victims Trust and, more particularly, how the coroners court in Hertfordshire operates. To that end I am delighted that Edward Thomas, HM Coroner for Hertfordshire will be the main presenter at the event.
The event will be chaired by Ian Pears, Partner at Park Woodfine Heald Mellows who is a trustee of the Road Victims Trust and manager of the pro bono scheme. Click here to view a copy of the agenda for the event.
The event is priced £200 per person to cover administration, refreshments and venue costs. The SRA have confirmed that while the course is non-accredited delegates will be entitled to a CPD credit of 2 hours.
