Road Traffic Accidents

There are many types of road traffic accidents, such as pedestrians, drivers, passengers, and cyclists.

There is also a great range of injuries, from the minor whiplash injury, to catastrophic life changing injuries and death.

At Park Woodfine Heald Mellows we have experience of the full range of injury cases.

If there is an inquest we will attend on your behalf.  If the Defendant is prosecuted for an offence relating to the claim (e.g. careless driving), we will have someone attend the Court so a note of the evidence can be obtained.

As we tend to target local clients, we usually have knowledge of the roads where your accident occurred.  If we do not, then we will go and have a look.

We are often contacted by potential clients who have received a letter of claim or Court documents.

If you have insurance, pass them on to your insurer.  If it is Court documents that you have received, inevitably several years will have elapsed and you may have forgotten how to contact your insurer.  The Claimant’s solicitors will tell you the details you need.

If you have no insurance, the claim will come under the Motor Insurers’ Bureau  http://www.mib.org.uk/Home/en/default.htm.  Either the MIB or a nominated insurer will deal with the claim.  You need to liaise with them.  Please note that if you are found responsible for the accident, the MIB or nominated insurer will seek reimbursement of its outlay from you.
