Children
When there is a breakdown of a relationship there are often disagreements over how the children of that relationship are to be brought up. Sometimes agreeing a way forward without assistance is impossible. We can help resolve the dispute by advising you of the legal solutions available.
The types of Court Orders that can assist are:-
A Residence Order – this settles with whom a child is to live with.
A Contact Order– this requires the person with whom a child lives to allow the child to have contact with the person named in the order.
A Prohibited Steps Order – this orders that no step which could be taken by a parent in meeting his/her parental responsibility for a child, and which is of a kind specified in the order, shall be taken by any person without the consent of the court (for example where there is no residence order in force to restrain one parent from removing a child from the jurisdiction without the consent of the other parent)
A Specific Issue Order– this gives directions for the determination of a specific question which has arisen, or which may arise, in connection with any characteristic of parental responsibility for a child.
After considering your personal situation, we can then advise and assist you more clearly on whether the assistance of a Court Order would be beneficial in your case and explain to you in more detail the process involved in applying for one of these Court Orders.
