Are there other options to Divorce?

Are there other options to Divorce?

Why is it that the fortnight away, which should be a relaxing laze by the pool, going out for dinner, the happy stress free dream that the brochures portray, turns out to be a battle of wills against the partner who doesn't want to eat at "that" restaurant, frustration at the teenage child that refuses to come out of their room, and that feeling of regret that sadly the situations that you'd hoped would disappear when you took of from the airport are still there.

Sadly we've all been there, the trouble is during such times most of us are faced with stress and problems that we need to overcome. On occasions however such times can bring underlying problems to the fore.

As I'm writing this piece of editorial I am reminded of my own personal battles with my now ex mother in law. It was the beginning of the end to my own marriage, weekends away with my wife  for  well earned breaks highlighted the fact that matters would never be right, at the time you ignore the warning signs, but sadly they never go away. What is it about holidays, or the fast approaching festive season that end up highlighting the frailties of relationships?

Realising that there may be an area in a relationship that needs facing up to is never an easy fact to admit to, it does take strength, and the support of family and friends to be there for you.

So what do you do? What happens? Do you continue in the same way  and ignore those emotional pains or do you face up to the situation that maybe things aren't right?

Today there are so many other options to consider, sure your friends are saying divorce him or her, get them out of your lives, however, "divorce" is a big scary word, and sadly conjures up images of pain, anger, and resentment. It doesn't have to be this way at all. The specialist Family team at Park Woodfine Heald Mellows solicitors can work with you, and advise you in many different ways, from mediation, separation agreements, collaborative law, or divorce.

Claire Trundley (Partner for Family Law says) "Where our expertise really helps is in finding amicable, and respectful ways of  helping clients work out the best solution to the couples individual situation" she continues "It is a sad reality that over 50% of marriages now end in divorce, yet going to court for a divorce is the final option. There are other options available, options which are far less stressful, and considerably more amicable."

Park Woodfine Heald Mellows solicitors were the first law firm to offer free family surgeries at all of their offices. The family surgeries still operate today, and in many instances can be the starting point in sorting out any problems that you feel may be there in your relationship.
