An agent is an intermediary involved in making a contract between the principal and the customer.
You need to consider the duties that both parties will owe one another together with the rights you can expect to retain. How much authority to negotiate will the agent have? Are they to negotiate and conclude the deal or simply negotiate then leave the final decision to you? Can you retain the services of more than one agent at a time or is the agreement exclusive? What about commission or remuneration – when and how will it be paid? Finally, how and when will the agreement terminate?
